The Swiss Olympic Medical Center of the CRR has supported the elite football referees' training programmes for the last 3 years.
The job of referee is far from being an easy one here in Switzerland. It requires an enormous amount of motivation to climb the ladder in this domain and the demands are extremely high, despite the fact that refereeing is carried out at an amateur level.
The staff at the Swiss Olympic Medical Center put their competences to the service of referees so that they can progress in the best possible way, especially at a physical level, despite all the constraints that they are faced with. The training programme of each referee is recorded and the sports medicine department of the CRR analyses them, in order to improve the referee's physical preparation. They truly feel better... for the other constraints, the ball is in the Association Suisse de Football's court.
