Thanks to its special commitment to Swiss competitive sport, the Clinique romande de réadaptation (CRR) will be able to bear the label "Sport Medical Center approved by Swiss Olympic" for a further four years from January 2023.
All CRR patients with a passion for sport can of course look forward to this award, which enables them to quickly regain their physical abilities after an accident and to return to their favourite sport and their professional activity. They receive therapy and training programmes tailored to their individual needs, which are more effective and demanding than those they normally receive in rehabilitation, and can discuss specific sports issues. The services offered include consultations and treatments in sports medicine and physiotherapy as well as performance diagnostics.
The awarding of the label to the CRR is based on the expertise in high-level sports medicine made available to amateur and professional sportsmen and women as well as to competitive clubs in the Valais and French speaking part of Switzerland. The partnerships established for several years with the HC Sierre and the Basketball Club Monthey-Chablais, which have been renewed for the 2022-2023 season, bear witness to the trust placed in the CRR. The fact that the CRR is always at the cutting edge of knowledge in the field of sports medicine gives it the prerequisites to welcome and train students from universities and colleges. This label also strengthens CRR's credibility in the area of non-occupational accident prevention in companies and makes it an important player in this field.
First-class sports medical care is essential for Swiss performance sport. For this reason, Swiss Olympic awards the label "Swiss Olympic Medical Center" or "Sport Medical Base approved by Swiss Olympic" to medical facilities that are particularly committed to the performance sport of the Swiss junior and elite categories. The major centres, as well as the basic ones, provide medical and physiotherapeutic support during training sessions and competitions.
