The CRR in the place of honour at the 3rd Arkathon

The jury's « coup de cœur » prize for a project run by the CRR.

Following the initiative of Drs Pierre-Etienne Fournier (head physician of the sports medicine department) and Xavier Jordan (head of the paraplegic department), two projects « labelled » CRR were put forward during the Arkathon 3rd edition, which took place at TechnoArk in Sierre from the 7th to the 9th of April 2017.

What is Arkathon ?

It is a bringing together of developers with the objective of creating, over a weekend, innovative solutions to facilitate the lives of professional health carers and/or patients. Professional carers or patient associations set down their challenge and their problems on an online platform, This year, 24 projects were proposed, and 12 were held back by the participating developers.

 The CRR well represented.

The two projects proposed by the  CRR were held back among the projects to be developed over the weekend. In the end it was the project RehabCoach by Dr Pierre-Etienne Fournier which won the jury's « coup de cœur » prize, for the sum of Fr. 2000.-. It consisted of connected sports wear analyzing that the movements made by patients while carrying out exercises at home were done correctly. The second challenge (a « To do list » when discharged from hospital) proposed by par Dr Xavier Jordan did not win any prizes, but like most projects, will continue its development with Arkathon Hacking Health Valais. All these project contribute to enhancing health procedures and the patients.

The winning project of Arkathon 2017, baptized FeverTravelApp was proposed by the Policlinique Médicale Universitaire de Lausanne (PMU) and received a cheque for fr. 20'000.-. It consists of an online platform which allows a fast diagnosis of tropical diseases.
