This Wednesday 14th of October, around fifteen patients and former patients of the CRR made the most of the "discovery demo-café" to benefit from advice given by experts. The goal of this activity was to show how important sporting activities are for people with disabilities.
Following previous sport-handicap activities organised by the CRR and its trade partners, l’Association du Sport Handicap Suisse PluSport, Défisport and l’Association Suisse des Paraplégiques (ASP), a « demo-café » to come and discover sporting activities took place in the gym hall at the CRR on the 14th of October.
Dr Pierre-Etienne Fournier, head of sports trauma medicine, started off by illustrating the importance of sporting activities. Then, Barbara Stäuble, physiotherapist, gave a 45 minute demonstration on how to exercise with a simple elastic band showing numerous excercises possible for a disabled person to carry out.
To finish, the ASP, PluSport and Defisport presented various possibilities which exist in the region for all those who are interested in taking part in some kind of sporting activity.
