As part of the prevention and screening campaign of the Association Valaisanne du Diabète, a stand will be present at the CRR on Wednesday the 22nd of September from 13h30 to 18h30.
Specialists to find out more
During this afternoon, specialists from the Association valaisanne du diabète (AVsD), as well as from the Clinique romande de réadaptation (CRR) are present to inform visitors about the possible complications linked to poorly managed diabetes or diabetes that is not taken care of early enough.
In the diabetic patient, a minor wound caused by a mundane injury should not be neglected. It can lead to serious complications (hospitalization or even amputation) if not treated in time. Wound care specialists and the CRR's technical foot orthopaedics workshop provide information on the various possibilities for preventing and treating diabetes complications.
1 person out of 3 is diabetic in the Valais, and does not know it
Many people are affected by diabetes, but do not know it. Indeed, the symptoms of this "silent" disease are often hardly noticeable. Screening is therefore essential to identify those who are ill, which is one of the main objectives of the 'Action diabète’ (fight diabetes) project.
Visitors will therefore have the opportunity to be screened during the afternoon, thanks to the presence of an AVsD nurse.
The internet site of Action diabète provides more general information about the campaign and the various projects that have been set up.
